GOOD HEART HEALTH IS IN YOUR HANDS

Heart Treatment in India

Healthcare experts and poets may have conflicting views when it comes to the questions of whether the heart has emotions. However, they surely come on the same page when one says that in heart lies our life! So, a happy and healthy heart is crucial to everyone’s well-being and you have to give significant importance to your cardiovascular health in order to live longer as well as healthy.

World Heart Day is commemorated on 29th September each year to spread awareness about securing better heart health. Let’s discuss how you can ensure optimum health and functioning of the heart.
Manage blood pressure
High blood pressure invites the risk of a heart attack as it can cause atherosclerosis or can build up the plaque in your arteries, which can lead to the blood flow blockage. Experts further say that high blood pressure doesn’t offer outward warning signs, hence, you should get it checked-up regularly. One or two high readings are not alarming, but if your blood pressure test results go over 120/80 consistently, then learn to manage it under the guidance of your doctor.
Minimize salt intake
Consuming too much salt increases blood pressure, which may ultimately up to the chances of you having a heart problem. Hence, you should keep a check on your salt intake. As per World Health Organisation (WHO), an adult should consume less than 2g sodium (approximately 5g salt) every day for a nicely functioning heart.
Exercise regularly
Having an active lifestyle significantly minimizes the chances of you suffering from cardiovascular disease. Exercise is the way forward for you if you want to strengthen your heart muscles. Furthermore, working out also helps you in keeping your weight under control as well as reducing stress, which bolsters your heart health. Hence, make sure to do 30 minutes of moderate exercise at least 5 days per week.
Eat heart-healthy foods
You may think that you have to deal with boring and bland food when we say a heart-healthy diet. However, you may be wrong as you have the freedom to enjoy a variety of vegetables, whole grains, fruits and low-fat dairy products which can be interestingly put together for a balanced meal using different recipes. What needs to be cut down or completely avoided are just a handful of villainous food elements-sodium, red meat, sugary foods and fats.
Get fresh air and drink plenty of water
According to the experts, fresh air is great for your overall health and aids your heart as well. Thus, make sure to get some fresh air every morning and evening. You may also go for hiking as it gets you moving in the natural environment and your heart can benefit from hiking.
Substitute sugary drinks and alcohol with water and natural beverages like fresh fruit juices, coconut water, fresh lime etc. Preferably, use honey instead of white sugar and rock salt instead of table salt in any such drink.
Curb stress & stop smoking
Stress is an integral part of modern-day life. But, you must make efforts to keep this problem at bay as stress can affect your blood pressure levels at any age and may lead you to heart disease. For that, you can try deep breathing exercise or some other helpful exercise by consulting your trainer.
Smoking is a harmful habit for your cardiovascular health as it damages the interior surface of blood vessels, which can result in atherosclerosis. So, quit smoking if you wish to see your heart being healthy. As per research, your blood pressure returns to normal after just 20 minutes of quitting and after 3 months, your lung function increases. Moreover, your risk of heart disease decreases by half if you quit smoking for one year.
Along with following the above-mentioned tips, you should also get ample sleep every night as getting the right amount of sleep is directly linked to health. So, incorporate all these expert suggestions into your everyday life to boost your cardiovascular health.
